Could be. But I feel like there's more to it than that. From a plot point of view, I think delivering this information is why the Pinis chose to kill Krim. I mean, we've seen plenty of Go-Backs on kamikaze missions in battle, so this adds nothing new to the story. That little insight from dying Krim seems to justify the decision, which to me would hint at a greater significance. But who knows?
