Silly Questions that Go Unanswered

callidora

Just some odd questions and reflections that none of us expect answered...but it's fun to ask

callidora

Some of the questions asked:

From Calla:
Is Cutter's hair naturally that sharp-looking, or does he use a combination of treesap and Preserver webbing to obtain that effect?

What happens when a Wolfrider turns out to be allergic to fur?

Do Sun Villagers ever get sunburned?

Does Savah ever bump that headdress of hers in low doorways?

How many times did Rayek cracked his head on the ceiling when he first time he learned to fly?

How many giant hawks does it take to make an aerie?

From Bugswort:

Where the heck did the giant birds come from, anyway (Winnowill, practicing?).

How did they fly, when they must weigh tons (Chosen Eight, working levitation? Or do the birds have some Glider-like powers, as the Wolfrider wolves have the power to Send - but then the Wolfpack are descended from Elves...did Lord Voll get jiggy with Tenspan's ancestors?? ).

How do they get enough to eat, and how can they fly when they've eaten it? (see above, silly).

From cactus:

Do they shave!?! I can't believe that Strongbows beard is growing like that on it's own..
Who's their hairdresser?
How about the make up?

StrangeWays

You forgot this one:

callidora

Fixed!

callidora

And another one:

Did either of the Doors have problems with hemrroids (however they're spelled) from sitting for so long?

Has Winnowill ever had a "wardrobe malfunction" with that slinky dress she wears?

Does Leetah ever battle frizz?

twinklebug

How come a lot of the women's low-cut tunics don't just fall off? How do they stay on when they're racing through the woods? Grin

Mostly chemicals and other such things...which brings up another question:

What do they use for soap?

How do they brush their teeth?

Who does their drycleaning?

Bugwort

What (or who) decides the style of face-fuzz an elder male Wolfrider gets? Can't be genetics - Mantricker & Cutter both got sideburns, whereas Bearclaw ended up with a rakish goatee. And why didn't any of the current-generation men grow moustaches? those bumfluff chin-warmers just look silly!

Uncle Bugs, Beard Fancier. Wink

If two elves have sex, and no one is around to watch is, is it still considered porn?

Xenophile, you didn't just call Richard Pini a dork, did you? Surprised You must have meant Callidora. . . Grin

Here's what I've always wondered: Does Cutter's chief's lock ever slip out of his hair? Does he have to retie it every morning, or does it just stay in?

redshine

Interesting ... but you've got a point there - I've seen Leetah's hair clip and earrings taken off but Cutter seems to wake up with the lock perfectly in place - wish I could say that about [b:4cf899efb5]my[/b:4cf899efb5] hair in the mornings ...

Sharee

Do elves have "bad hair days"? Of the fluffy kind?
Do trolls ever suffer from lack of that vitamin you mostly get from sunlight?
Do elves ever get gas?

Blasphemy!

And just so I contribute [i:eccc87a59a]something[/i:eccc87a59a] today: it's spelled "hemorrhoids."

Why not, if he deserved it?

On the subject of Winnowill's hair, you'd think the ends would get dusty, hanging to the floor like that... maybe that was why she set the wolfriders to cleaning Blue Mountain when she had them as slaves...

How do the flowers the preservers have for hats stay fresh? And the vines in Joyleaf's hair, or does she replace them every few days?

NightAngel

Do the female elves also bother with PMS?

Blackbird

Guess not, since they don't have period..( Lucky bastards )

Leanan

"What happens when a Wolfrider is allergic to fur?"

Timmain makes the first ever hypoallergenic wolf. A Bichon-frise/wolf hybrid. It's fluffy and doesn't make you sneeze!

Grin Grin

Does Savah ever get major headahes from those five ton metal crowns she wears?

Leanan

I figured my sweet li'l Callidora had done nothing to deserve it (this time :P ) so you must have meant Richard... just because we're his fans each and every one of us doesn't mean we should treat him like royalty, in my opinion... I'm sure he wouldn't like that, and I don't think he was offended...

:chuckle: wondered that myself.

And, yeah, Richard wasn't offended. He read it, sent me a pm to razz me, but, wasn't offended. :)

Leanan

How does Skywise get his metal wristgear off? They're too tight to slip over his hands...

xenophile80

Surprised good question....

Teejay

how does skywise keep that headband thing from slipping down, and doesn't that get hot in the sun?

Leanan

the metal headgear is fastened by a string...

Teejay

ah, another mistery is solved Grin , but that still leaves the sun thing

Blackbird

And do Woldriders uses underwesr? Was thinking about the short skirts some of them uses, Dewshine, Moonshade sometime, Strongbow + +

Leanan

Teejay

talking about underwear, do the female wolfriders wear bra's, wouldn't wanna go hopsing about without a bra with boobs like that, support please Grin

Bugwort

As for the bra question, remember that the Elfin shape is idealised, and artificial - the Coneheads designed it - and gravity-defying breasts are just part of the package! :D

This surmise handily answers a few more questions, like:-

How come Elves never get acne?

Where's the Elven chest hair?

Why no morning Elf-breath?

...and so on. Neat, eh? :)

That also goes for Cutter's arm band and necklace! Unless those trolls are so incredibly clever they've made unnoticeable clasps. (which is not that unlikely)

Uncle Bugs's answer about genetics can be used as an answer for MANY of the EQ questions! Lucky punks! Grin

Good point! So - since Treestump's the oldest living Wolf-blooded Elf - does this mean the others will get hairy chests in later life?

I wonder if wrapstuff can be used for legwax-style hair removal?

OW!

Uncle Bugs.

scarlettdoll

Do they even grow leg-hair? Surprised

krwordgazer

Treestump has chest hair? I never noticed any of the elves with any body hair whatsoever. Where is that shown?

As for Cutter's necklace-- Searcher and the Sword shows that it's bendable and doesn't meet at the back, but can just be bent and taken off. Which begs two questions:

1. Why doesn't the back ever slip around to the front? My necklaces do that all the time!

2. If he can take it off and bend it so easy, why didn't he just take it off and bend it into a hook to retrieve his sword during the Trial of Head in Book 1?

(you guys can call Mr. Pini a dork if you want to-- I just don't feel I know him well enough yet. He'd have to hang around here more)

I will tell you this, Leanan, I have earned the title of 'dork' many times over...I mean...look at this thread...>.>;;

Question: If Egg is cold like stone, then does that make him a 'stoner'?

 Now I feel like a dork...

twinklebug

As for Skywise's wristband thingies, I saw in "The Heart's Way", in the scene where the maidens were undressing him, one of them lying on the unclasped and sort of folded in half. So I think they have a hinge on one side, and a clasp on the other. But wouldn't wearing all that metal stuff get hot in the desert?
Another question: How do they clip their toenails? It'd be a little hard to do with a knife!

ChristinaRaibert0

Healer's doing, I guess.

Walking around bare-chested in the snow and ice doesn't seem to bother them all that much either...

Nakadah

Okay I've got one!

It specifically states a few times that they have white teeth.. (At least Cutter) How do they manage to keep them so white? They don't really brush their teeth, do they?

Emma

Nowth

There're other things that can be and have been used to clean your teeth, like wood or chalk. Add the usual elfin über-ness, voila... (btw, non-white doesn't mean unclean, colours vary...)

Nakadah

True, true.. Though I can see Cutter brushing his teeth with a piece of bark.. Grin Bending at the creek, spitting his toothpaste made of treesap and... other things...

Maybe his necklace is made of a gold alloy that is elastic (easily resuming original shape after being stretched or expanded, returning to or capable of returning to an initial form or state after deformation) and not plastic (capable of being shaped or formed, of undergoing continuous deformation without rupture or relaxation)

callidora

To Arthis: Huh?

To Twinklebug: I used to do it when I was a kid...Mom and Dad never could figure out how I bent enough to get my foot to my mouth...
