Have begun work on “Elfquest – the Final Quest” issue 18, which turns out to be another long one…24 pages. But then, why not? Since it wraps up the 6 issues that comprise “Final Quest Volume 3,” it better be a doozy! Very much have that same feeling as back in the early 80s when I embarked on Book 4 of the Classic Quest. Terror? Indeed! For, as well planned out as this thing is, the story must be brought home as the total catharsis we’ve always envisioned.
In this episode Ryan and David focus on issue #16 of the Final Quest and continue the conversation about Rayek's attack on the humans, then dive into Reef's encounter with Winnowill, Korafay's floating ability, the origins of the "Scary Ones," the role of both Cutter's key and Two-Edge in the next Quest--and like the issue, much, much more. Pretend it’s “Black Snake Friday” every day (at least while supplies last)!
UPDATE: This just in from France, home of the bande dessine – Comic Box Magazine #101, July-August 2016. It looks to be a very nice article, and Richard spent most of last evening between Google Translate and the remnants of high school French lessons to render the whole thing readable. (Note: There are a few minor factual inaccuracies in the article that I’ve let be. The odd – to English-hearing ears – rhythms and tenses are probably as much due to my piecemeal translation as to the actual usage.
