On Saturday, January 22, 2022, ElfQuest fans got their very first taste of Episode One of the ElfQuest Audio Movie at a special livestream listening event for crowdfunding backers of the project. To say we are blown away at the tremendous response is an understatement.

March 3, 2021 — Volume One of the “ElfQuest – Stargazer’s Hunt” collection is now available from Dark Horse Comics. Gathering the first four issues of the comic book series it follows the dual quests of stargazer Skywise and his fabulous daughter Jink.
Years ago, Skywise fled the elves’ utopian Starhome on a cosmos-spanning journey, to reunite with his departed “brother in all but blood” Cutter, neither knowing nor caring what perils might lie along the way. Jink, now grown to adulthood, also voyages outward to find her long-lost father, to aid him in his desperate quest – and mend a great wrong.
Richard and Wendy Pini of Warp Graphics, Fred Greenhalgh of Dagaz Media, and Ben Dobyns of The Fantasy Network, are thrilled to announce a joint venture to adapt the classic fantasy comic, ElfQuest, as a cinematic ‘audio movie’ experience with an anticipated cast of more than 40 voice actors, original sound design, and a lush orchestral score.

What does that mean? We’ve been working with Dark Horse, our publisher, to find the best solution that balances three strong desires: ours to finish this important story, yours to read it, and Dark Horse’s financial needs. You all know the COVID pandemic has hit the US economy hard, including the comic book business. Single issue series – such as Elfquest – have been especially affected by COVID-related closures. So we have decided to publish the second half of Stargazer’s Hunt all at once, as a graphic novel collection, early in 2022, to follow the first volume.
The ElfQuest Show podcast is back with a new episode focused on the duel quests of Jink and Skywise in issue 4 of “ElfQuest – Stargazer’s Hunt.”
This time host David Mizejewski is joined by longtime fan Shekinah, known in ElfQuest fandom for her enthusiasm and infatuation with, well, pretty much every character.

Dark Horse Comics has announced that the first collection of “ElfQuest – Stargazer’s Hunt” will be released March 3, 2021.
The book consists of the first four issues of the “Stargazer’s Hunt” comic series plus pages of behind-the-scenes artwork and other goodies. It will be available in print as well as in digital format via Comixology, Dark Horse Digital, Kindle and Nook.

Here the Wolfriders still make their forest abode, and here Jink hopes to find guidance from Skywise’s other daughter, Yun, not to mention Leetah and Cutter’s rambunctious second son.
Dark Horse Comics has released an exciting four-page preview of “ElfQuest – Stargazer’s Hunt” issue 4, featuring a glimpse of Jink’s first adventure on the World of Two Moons. The preview is available exclusively from AIPT.
The issue was originally slated for release in May 2020 but was delayed by industry-wide shutdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The full issue is available digitally and in print wherever comics are sold on Wednesday, October 14.

In 1982 the first five issues of the ElfQuest comic series were adapted into a prose novel by Wendy and Richard Pini. Titled Journey to Sorrow’s End, it expanded on the story, adding rich background details of Wolfrider and Sun Villager culture, and delving into the inner workings of the characters to an extent not possible in the comics format. It also included a dozen gorgeous pen-and-ink illustrations of key scenes by Wendy.
The book saw several editions under different publishers, including an audiobook, but has been out of print for two decades, available to fans only by tracking down used copies from secondhand booksellers.
For nearly six hours in September, 2019, ElfQuest co-creator Wendy Pini sat down with Jon B. Cooke, editor of “Comic Book Creator” magazine, for one of the most candid, nothing-held-back interviews she’s ever given.
In the article, titled Shadow and Sunlight: The Deep Sorrows and Radiant Joys of Wendy Fletcher Pini, Wendy goes deep into the ups and downs of not just her career, but her entire life, and how her creative spirit helped her navigate it all.

Question: How does the current coronavirus situation affect the future of “Elfquest – Stargazer’s Hunt”?
Answer: The pipeline for new comics – from publisher to printer to distributor to retail shop to you – is effectively shut down indefinitely. Issue #4 of EQ-SH was scheduled for May 13, 2020; No one knows when it will actually ship.
Question: Will there be a digital release, even if there’s no print version?
Answer: No. Dark Horse Comics, our publisher, along with most other major players, will not issue digital comics without the corresponding print edition.

Everyone is doing their best to stay healthy and sane in these trying times as we face the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Sonny Strait, artist on “ElfQuest – Stargazer’s Hunt,” is back at it with a fun cartoon about the process of helping to create new ElfQuest tales.
Sonny has recently been taking sketch suggestions from fans and got a request to do a drawing of what it’s like working on ElfQuest with Wendy and Richard Pini. Here is the result, which he shared on his Facebook page.
This latest illustration updates Sonny’s classic “How to Make Funny Books” comic from his early days (nearly 20 years ago!) 
You’ve asked. We reply.
Question: How does the current coronavirus situation affect the future of “Elfquest – Stargazer’s Hunt”?
Answer: The pipeline for new comics – from publisher to printer to distributor to retail shop to you – is effectively shut down indefinitely. Issue #4 of EQ-SH was scheduled for May 13, 2020; No one knows when it will actually ship.
Question: Will there be a digital release, even if there’s no print version?
Answer: No. Dark Horse Comics, our publisher, along with most other major players, will not issue digital comics without the corresponding print edition.

Everyone is doing their best to stay healthy and sane in these trying times as we face the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Remember the Kickstarter campaign that got our three gorgeous art books funded? One of the perks was an ElfQuest coloring book, full of wonderful Wendy Pini black-and-white line artwork. This book was only available through the Kickstarter campaign and is now rare as zwoot brains.

In the face of the growing coronavirus outbreak, we – Wendy and Richard – have made the difficult and frankly heartbreaking decision to cancel personal appearances for the remainder of 2020. This is not at all how we imagined this year, even as recently as a month ago. But common sense says we can’t ignore what’s happening all over the US right now.

Dark Horse Comics has released the cover and issue synopsis for issue #4 of “ElfQuest – Stargazer’s Hunt.”
Skywise the stargazer is gone, lost within the vastness of trackless space. His daughter, the fabulous Jink, sets out on her own quest to find him and return him to the elves’ Star Home. She has no idea where or why he fled, but she knows where to begin her search for answers: the World of Two Moons, her father’s birthplace. Here the Wolfriders still make their forest abode, and here Jink hopes to find guidance from Skywise’s other daughter, Yun, not to mention Leetah and Cutter’s rambunctious second son.
