Salt is the eldest Wavedancer and his wisdom is greatly valued by his tribemates. He is so at one with the sea that he had his legs permanently (so he thought at the time) reshaped into the form of a fish tail. Though this renders him largely immobile on land, Salt is quite content to spend his life in the serenity only to be found under the waves. Though he is peace-loving as well as ancient, he will not shy away from fighting to protect his people.
More recently, with his lifemate Spray, Salt has chosen to answer the Great Call of the Palace of the High Ones, willing to give up a life in the ocean to travel across dry land on two legs.
