After the Palace of the High Ones crashed on the World of Two Moons, some of the High Ones survived the slaughter by the primitive humans and fled into the surrounding woods, scattering to the four corners of the world. Legend speaks of a group of eight-plus-one — that became known as the Circle of Nine — that in particular made its mark on the World of Two Moons though now, millennia after their arrival, only one, Timmain, survives.
