Soon after ElfQuest’s first children’s book A Gift of Her Own was published in 1995, Warp Graphics received a surprise submission. An audio-book production company (alas, no longer extant) recorded the first few pages of the story, complete with voices and sound effects. At the time, Wendy and Richard Pini weren’t able to pursue the project, and the sample CD went into storage where it has remained until now.

While relatively simple compared to a full-scale audio drama such as the ElfQuest Audio Movie, this snippet is quite charming all the same — a taste of what might have been (and who knows, might still be).
