Spine is the confidante of both Snakeskin and Brill. Given to curiosity and concession, he often finds himself the arbiter in disputes, yet considers himself quite the eligible bachelor. The Wavedancers’ storyteller, he is often to be found cheering up Brill, whom he affectionately calls “Limpet.”
After Brill’s Recognition with Sunstream, he was unafraid to argue on her behalf against Surge. When the Palace of the High Ones arrived at Crest Point so the pair could be united, he promptly accompanied his friends into the Palace despite Surge’s grave misgivings.
