Pronunciation: SKORTCH chih-RELL (rhymes with torch the bell)
Scorch Chirell is a member of the Rebels, a group of young people (and other beings) seeking adventure in the future world of ElfQuest. A hot-headed throwback to a more romantic time, he fantasizes about stealing spaceships and terrorizing the star-system as a pirate — but all in the cause of good. His first love is racing, which may explain why his approach to engineering is more elbow grease than experience, and more by sound and feel than following schematics. As his friend Cosmo says of Scorch, “He reads like a demon, though, and he can rebuild an engine with a pocket knife and a shoe string.” Chandra, another of the Rebels, thought him rather obnoxious at first, but he’s grown on her. Scorch is fiercely loyal to his family, friends, and causes he believes in.
